A rural hike along the Wupper

Once again this year, the IPD events are going back to nature. On March 18, 2023, 20 colleagues took part in the ever-popular and annual hike. The troupe started from Müngsten and followed the hiking trail along the Wupper river for six kilometers in the area otherwise surrounded by forest. The destination was the landmark Burg Castle. Once there, the participants were first able to fortify themselves with coffee, beer and the famous Bergischer waffles. This was followed by an exciting guided tour of the former castle, which has been converted into a castle since the 14th century and is therefore considered the largest reconstructed castle complex in North Rhine-Westphalia.

After the tour, the group set off on the eight-kilometer long return journey. Even the long climbs could not obscure the scenic views that the participants had. After all, a little physical effort is part of it!

During dinner that followed, there was heated discussion about which place to hike through next.
