Canoeing through the Spreewald

On what may be the warmest weekend of the year, 26 colleagues from IP Dynamics gathered in Lübbenau, Brandenburg, near Cottbus, to go on a canoe trip together in the beautiful Spreewald.

On the evening of the day of arrival, all participants got in the mood for the adventure during a convivial visit to the restaurant. On Saturday, July 20th, in the morning, they spread out on the rented double canoes to paddle back and forth through the many small and large canals of the pleasantly shady Spreewald.

The first hurdle was the shaky entry into the canoes. Thanks to excellent crisis management, however, no one fell into the water. As a result, all canoe teams were soon able to pick up steam. After a short period of familiarization, colleagues safely maneuvered the agile canoes across the branched waterways of the Biosphere Reserve.

For small appetites along the way, all canoes came with picnic baskets with genuine Spreewald delicacies (cucumbers!) equipped. So the excursion group could taste the real Spreewald lifestyle while relaxing on the water or taking a break at the picknick area.

There was a lot of activity on the water and not all water sports enthusiasts and excursion boats were on the same route. As a result, navigating the approximately six-kilometer tour proved to be tricky. However, the colleagues provided each other with exemplary support so that they didn't miss a turnoff and all made it safely to the finish line.

After four and a half hours on the water, all colleagues have returned to the canoe rental dock (somewhat) dry feet. At a joint dinner in Lübbenau, they were able to review the eventful day once again and round it off together.
