IT management, consulting and auditing — What is that anyway?

In the IT Management, Consulting & Auditing degree program, you will study the basics of computer science and economics as well as management and consulting aspects. You will learn how to develop and implement IT solutions in a targeted manner using your business knowledge. The course content from computer science, business administration and IT management is weighted approximately equally. Through your studies, you will acquire the qualification to fill a key position at the interface between business processes and IT systems. For example, after successfully completing your studies, you will tailor IT systems to the company's requirements, design tailor-made software solutions or, as head of an IT department, you will be responsible for managing IT resources and managing the associated budgets.

Transition between theory and practice

You have a structured course of study, which is defined by a block alternation between lectures at the university of applied sciences and practical work in the company. The lecture phase usually lasts fourteen to sixteen weeks. This is followed by a practical block of eight to ten weeks in the company.

Theory

During your studies, you will encounter job-specific fields of learning, such as programming, databases & algorithms as well as applied data science & machine learning. On the one hand, you will learn how information systems are used comprehensively in companies and, on the other hand, how IT-based business processes are viewed holistically and external risk factors are taken into account.

You will deepen your general basic knowledge in subjects such as business administration, economics, accounting and finance. From the third semester, you will choose between IT (software design) and economics (financial accounting & auditing). A practical project phase takes place in the 6th semester.

Practice
