Business informatics — What is that anyway?

In the Business Informatics degree program, you will acquire comprehensive knowledge in the fields of applied computer science, business administration and mathematics. With your know-how, you will learn how to solve and optimize business issues with the help of computer-aided programs and systems. By studying business informatics, you will acquire a wide range of qualifications. If you see your talent more in IT, you could work as an ERP manager, for example. In this job, you plan company resources — i.e. the efficient use of capital. personnel and equipment and are responsible, among other things, for the implementation, support and development of ERP systems, which are used for controlling, marketing and personnel management. However, if you see your particular skills more in the area of business administration or management, you can also get started as an IT project manager, for example. In this position, you will supervise all steps of IT projects, from setting objectives to market-ready results and preparing or introducing the software or hardware. You ensure that the time limit is met and are therefore in constant communication and consultation with developers as well as clients and customers.

What you can expect from us

Transition between theory and practice

You have a structured process, which is defined by regular alternation between lectures and practical work. The university you choose dictates the alternation between theoretical and practical semester periods. Depending on the model, you will be at university or in the company in blocks or days. This gives you various opportunities to work on projects.
